Rachel Brown

Science

My name is Rachel Brown, and this will be my third year teaching 7-12 science at Willow Creek. This is my fifth-year teaching science after moving to Belgrade from Vermont during the summer of 2021. In Vermont, I spent two years teaching 9th/10th grade Biology, Honors Chemistry, upperclassman Anatomy and Physiology, as well as assistant teaching AP Biology.

Although my degree and past work has been more focused in the fields of biology and some chemistry, I have enjoyed teaching other fields such as earth science, physics and astronomy to my students here at Willow Creek. In fact, on the side, I am also pursuing a Master’s degree in Science Education from MSU, so that I can hone my physical science skills.

Besides teaching, I spend much of my free time with my husband (just married this summer), our collective of four kids and three cats. We have a lot of fun together and do a lot of adventuring in the summertime.
