I am very excited to welcome back the rock star staff of Willow Creek School this fall!

Teachers will be here August 20th and August 27th for PIR days. Following the August 27th PIR day we will be hosting the annual POTLUCK MEET AND GREET! 5:30-7:00. The school will grill hamburgers and hotdogs and provide drinks, please bring a side dish of your choice. This is a great opportunity to come and meet new staff as well as reconnect with our staff who have been here in past years.

New to our crew is Shelly Galiger, who will be teaching in the 3/4 classroom and Nicole Frye, who will be one of our new paraprofessionals!

Rick Denny will be coming back to teach math and Rachel Smith will be here to do part-time PE.
Leah Golding is also returning and will be in the 1/2 classroom as well as teaching other specials and administrative duties. Denise Vandolah is returning to do title 1 and be our librarian. Christine Bachmeier will be with us again as our title 1 interventionist and testing coordinator. Sara Hughes and Amber Hungerford are our returning paraprofessionals. Sara will also be doing our guidance program, Character Strong, with the students. Julie Howell has been with us since last spring as our custodian, and the building as never looked so good! Chrystal Duvall will be in the office again this year doing secretary duties and back at the wheel as the best bus driver in the county! We are so please they have all decided to come back this fall!

Our tenured staff that has held our core together for so many years is amazing! Diane Gilbreaith, Tara Schumacher, Rachel Brown, and Erin Masura are all back for another great school year at Willow Creek.

Sherri Lower and Jeanne Bjorndal each with 30+ years working at Willow Creek School are never allowed to retire. Sherri keeps a watchful eye on our budget to ensure we are able to operate and Jeanne makes sure that we are all fed. These positions are key to a successful school!

Willow Creek School also has a very engaged school board (Kris Skolrud, Chelsey Petz and Brooke Leugers) that is truly invested in all aspects of school success and safety. A huge "Thank you" to them all for their service to the students, staff and community!

It is an honor and privilege to be a part of such a wonderful school and community! See you all at the MEET and GREET August 27th, 5:30-7:00!

Cheers to an amazing 2025-2026 School Year -
Ms. Bonnie

Fall sports is right around the corner!

We will be having a parent/participant meeting at the school Wednesday, August 6th @ 6:30 PM. This meeting is for grades 5-12 who will participating in ANY sports throughout the year. We need to get numbers to ensure we have enough kids to field Jr. High teams. We will meet in the Science room with an alternate plan to meet on the front lawn if the building is too hot. The cafeteria is still full with gym bleachers.

Tracy Schmitt will be coaching Jr. High Volleyball and she will be here to visit with the girls and parents.

High School Volleyball and Jr. High and High School Football will be in Whitehall. There is a possibility of High School Cross Country with early morning practices at Willow Creek, details to be determined. We do need to hear from participants if they will be participating in High School Fall sports. Schools pay MHSA $250 for every HS sport that has participants, if we do not have participants we receive the fees we pay back into our athletics program. It is important to know before the sport starts if we will have kids playing.

Willow Creek School will pay 1/2 of the Whitehall sports fees for our student athletes who participate in co-op sports.

**if anyone is interested in driving the kids to Whitehall for co-op sports please contact the office. 406-285-6991. Driver must have clean driving record, at least 21 years old, have a finger print background check and a valid Driver's license. **
